|
Prerequisites |
- good French language knowledge
- visual memory
- synthetic mind
- tridimensional perception
|
Main themes |
There are two main topics:
- the fundamental anatomical concepts: spatial references, nomenclature rules, regions and systems, anatomical landmarks;
- the general description of the systems. The human body will be rebuilt on a system basis, with particular emphasis on the form-function relationship and on the topographic-functional organ interactions.
|
Aims |
The course unit covers basic morphological knowledge needed to construct spatial perception of the anatomical systems. The student will be able to describe precisely the organ localization, its tri-dimensional configuration as well as its form-function relationship. These anatomical concepts are relevant as pre-requisite for other courses of the curriculum (such as physiology, semiology and pathology).

Evaluation methods |
Evaluation: MCQ
|
Content |
- General concepts
- Osteo-articular system, muscles and locomotion function
- Nervous system, sensory organs and sensorimotor function
- Heart, vessels and the circulation
- Thoracic and abdominal viscera, respiratory tract, digestive and urogenital functions. Methods : lectures and anatomical illustrations. The course will tend to grade the anatomical data and to consider them from functional, medical or clinical points of view.

Bibliography |
Supportive material: syllabus

Olson. Atlas d'anatomie humaine ADAM. Pradel.
|
Other information |
This course constitutes the pre-requisite of the course of clinical and topographical anatomy focusing on the head and neck, in DENT12BA, and on all the regions of the human body in MED12BA.
It is equivalent to the course LIEPR1002: Essentials of systematic and functional anatomy, in KINE11BA and EDPH11BA.
It is not equivalent to the course WFARM1009 which is more schematic and synthetic, addressed to the students of FARM11BA and SBIM11BA, who will not be directly implied in the medical care to the patients.
Consequently, a valid knowledge of these Essentials of systematic and functional anatomy gives the student an access to FARM12 or SBIM12 without any complement, but the contrary is not possible.
