Main themes
To meet these objectives, the course consists in:
- presenting a historical and doctrinal synthesis of the question of one God in three persons;
- introducing the student to present-day problems, situating them in their contemporary context;
- initiating the student to theological work; this part of the course includes an introduction to the elaboration of an issue and a practical initiation to bibliographical tools with the student asked to write a paper with a view to making practical use of what he/she has learned in this initiation.
Aims
By the end of this course, the student should be able:
- to describe the stages development of the Trinitarian dogma;
- to understand the theological problems tied to the confession of one God in three persons;
- to indicate in which terms the question of God poses itself to present-day mentality;
- to deal with a particular question in this field using an adequate bibliography.
Content
The teaching studies the Christian confession to God, One and Trinity, from the point of view of biblical, historical and systematic theology.
