Main themes |
During this internship, students come into direct contact with the world of documentation. Under the supervision of professional librarians, they will discover the department responsible for the acquisition of monographs and periodicals, the lending and reception departments, management of documentation, reserves, and will encounter conservation issues. They will be trained in cataloguing, classification and indexing.
Under the supervision of the lecturer in charge of the library science and bibliometrics course and working in a team, students will analyse and use documentation software, undertake a bibliometric study applied to monitoring technological developments and economic intelligence, as well as an advanced piece of documentation research.

Aims |
Awareness of management issues relating to a library or a documentation centre, in a university context generally familiar to students, before having to deal with a library or documentation centre outside the university. (LSTIC9002). The internship has a direct connection with the theoretical courses on library sciences and bibliometrics (LCLIB2120 and LCLIB2125).
