Prerequisites |
Literary history and previous knowledge of different ways to analyse literary texts.

Main themes |
The seminar will deepen localized issues. Depending on subjects and issues, texts from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century French literature will be selected.

Aims |
It is thus presented as an introduction to personal research and preparation for the thesis in its various phases (analysis, problem setting, writing) from the point of view of literary history.
|
Evaluation methods |
Written essay to be prepared individually. This work will lead to an oral presentation during a last session of the seminar. It will have to be returned at the beginning of the examination session.

The seminar is given alternatively by Professors Guiderdoni and Zanone : in 2014-2015, Professor Zanone ; in 2015-2016, Professor Guiderdoni.

Content |
Content
In 2014-2015, with Prof. Damien Zanone, the seminar will deal with the reading and the study of several women's autobiographies of the XVIIIth century, which have been recently published in Catriona Seth, La Fabrique de l'intime. Mémoires et journaux de femmes du XVIIIe siècle, Paris, Robert Laffont, « Bouquins » :
- Mémoires de Mme de Staal-Delaunay
- Mémoires particuliersde Mme Roland
- Mémoiresde Victoire Monnard
The seminar will examine the emergence of the autobiographical practice in the XVIIIth century and will insist on the feminine point of view.
