Main themes This course takes place in a two years cycle. It alternates with course PSYM 2042 In-depth questions in psychology of religion: social approach. The topics broached here consist in a developmental approach in the psychology of religion, and this throughout life. The course will include, on the one hand, specific questions by age (childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age), and on the other hand, cross questions that relate to the logic and dynamics of religious development.
Aims To look further into specific questions of developmental psychology of religion with a special attention on questions about interdisciplinary interest and questions in relation with the professional practice based on the interaction between theoretical prospects and empirical studies.
Content Developmental approach (30h, 3 credits) - The question of the universality and the naturalist aspect of religion - Religious development, spiritual development and personal development - Religious socialization, education and its regulators - Religious development in terms of cognitive stages - Magic thought and metaphysics questions in the child - Parental attachment, in love adult attachment and religious path - Men and women: specific religious developments - Formation of identity and faith in teenagers - Psychology of the vocation and conversion - Religion, ageing, and attitudes in front of death
