Main themes The course is designed to identify the different methodological principles necessary for the structure and organization of learning involving religion, morality, civic education, philosophy and so on, but also involving all educational situations (within and outside the classroom) which can promote the overall development of learners (institutional projects). From a methodological perspective, students are encouraged to make links between practical cases (tools, methods, experiences) and theoretical frameworks and to identify the didactic, psychological and epistemological foundations.
Aims By the end of this course, students will be capable, as educational psychologists, of playing an active role in the training of future teachers in the primary and secondary sectors in fields relating to values and the development of citizenship. More particularly, they will be able to analyse the teaching methods of a teaching project in these areas and make recommendations for improvement with reference to didactic principles and academic and expert knowledge on learning techniques.
Content - to link different forms of education in values through epistemological, historical, political and philosophical approaches; - to analyse the types of "difference" between human beings and define pluralism; - to apply an institutional, organizational and strategic analysis in a school environment to identify the obstacles to and ways forward for education in values and citizenship; - to identify steps and methods which would enable values to be more deeply rooted, to promote wider consideration of values and the spiritual dimension of human beings; - to establish a series of educational "requirements" with reference to academic knowledge of the moral development of children, young people and adults; - to explain and illustrate didactic principles and analyse teaching materials in a critical way.
Other information Development of a teaching strategy adapted to adults including the link between theory and practice, work in groups, training assessment and work on using material in practice. The training and assessment methods used must reflect the principles students have been taught.
