Main themes - The mortality history of populations : compared perspectives of epidemiological transitions - Information systems and strategies of observation and research in the field of health (prospective and experimental studies, case-control studies) - Concepts - health, reproductive health, morbidity, nutritional status, disability, dependence, mortality - and their indicators - Demo-epidemiologic measures: incidence, prevalence, relative risks… - Today's main problems in public health: North/South comparison.
Aims Knowledge of the sources of information and of the tools and methods to analyze health and mortality in popu-lations over time and space.
Other information Written examination. Access to references, presentations and other course documents on Icampus. Portfolio of readings.
