Teaching methods

The subject of the course is the spatial dimension of the urban socio-economic development and its planning and management modes. It comes within the scope of designing sustainable world. The lecture presents principles susceptibles to be implemented in the exercises of the architecture workshop regarding patterns and forms of the public spaces, relationships between built volumes and urban programming conception. More precisely, these knowledges must lead to conceive, on the one hand, a consistent and enriching integration of a neighbourhood project in a broader area and, on the other hand, the design of public spaces which induce physical and social relationships of the built set they lead into. Furthermore, the lecture introduces the prerequisites for the master inside which, in the scope of a broad and complex area project, students will be able to design architectural projects based on arguments and sensivity to holistic challenges in urban design and planning.
