General training for students in Archaeology. It approaches sciences, techniques and methods of Laboratory used for the characterization and dating of archaeological artefacts.

The course is organised in 2-hour modules, each of them devoted to a particular theme in archaeological science.

Content |
The course presents key methods and disciplines for characterising and dating artefacts and ecofacts (fauna, flora) recovered from archaeological sites: archaeometallurgy, ceramic petrography, archaeometry of ancient glass, archaeozoology, archaeobotany, absolute dating methods (U-Th, OSL, archaeomagnetism, etc.).
