Aims
At the end of this activity, the student will be able to - carry out personal research on a specific theological or literary question about ancient christian literature (Greek and/or latin) - read critically ancient theological sources; - use the main tools in the field.
Content
The topic of this second level course changes each year. For example: Jerome as a biblical scholar, the patristic interpretation of Genesis and Exodus, Song of Songs as interpreted by Origenes and Gregory of Nyssa, but also Eros and Agape according to the Fathers of the Church, and homiletics in the fourth century. Many texts of the fathers of the Church related to these topics are read and commented on during the lessons. Students learn to use the main tools in the field of patristics.
