Main themes - First part on the aggressor and second on the victim. Clinical procedures in terms of questioning, modelling and therapeutic intervention - Identification and critical reading of social representations of the phenomenon of sexual violence -Survey of different theories contributing to the understanding of sexual violence : psycho-sociology (symbolic interactionism and sociology of deviance, victimology), psychoanalysis, cognitive behaviouralism, systemics, sexology, biological theories (neurology, genetics, endocrinology) - Critical analysis of current therapies and possible integrated models.
Aims - In-depth consideration of a phenomenon which is highly charged emotionally - Examination of clinical activity based on the particular phenomenon of sexual violence relating both to the sexual aggressor as well as the victim of sexual abuse - Multidisciplinary survey of different psychotherapeutic and medical intervention models (theories and practices) with sexual aggressors and victims of sexual violence - Training in the critical interpretation of these models through comparative study and possible use to respond globally to the particular problem.
Content Lectures covering theory and clinical case study led by lecturers or students ; regular contributions from experts. Content: 1. Introduction to clinical procedure 2. Clinical work in a medico-legal context 3. Current definition of sexual abuse both from the perspective of the aggressor and the victim. Analysis of the different ways that can lead to a sexually aggressive act ; links with different explanatory pyscho-medico-social theories 4. Process of victimization, short, medium and long-term effects on the victims 5. Current therapies for sexual aggressors, victims and global approaches. Lecturers on this course have wide clinical expertise in their field.
