Main themes - Ethology of sex education - Educational practice regarding sexuality. Cognition, emotion and behaviours linked to sexuality. - Limits of sex education in school and assessment of its impact. Possible ways of planning a sex education programme based on the needs of the subject and their social integration.
Aims - By the end of the course, students will have an outline of the different educational approaches relating to sexuality. Sex education is dealt with both from a family and an institutional perspective.
Content All the topics covered in the course are supported by relevant material and enhanced by practical experience of the lecturer in planning and delivering sex education. The theoretical foundations are illustrated by clinical examples and by contributions from experts in the field of institutional sex education.
