By realizing his thesis, the student will have shown his/her aptitude to master the literature relating to a scientific question in psychological sciences, to make a theoretical and critical synthesis, resulting in a work hypothesis which will be submitted to tests, and to discuss these elements in a critical way, and in the light of existing literature.
Besides the issues related to the research question and the theory around the hypothesis, the thesis will include the set up and the realization of an empirical study as well as the analysis and discussions of collected data.
A thesis without collection of original empirical data is also possible. It would then have to be about a critical review of quantitative or qualitative (meta-analysis) literature. In particular situations, an exclusively theoretical question could also be possible.

| Other information |
Evaluation: At the beginning of the first master, the student will acquaint with the rules of the thesis and will look for a teacher to accompany him/her in his/her project.
- At the end of the second year, the thesis (PSYM2001B) will be evaluated by a jury formed by the teacher and two readers. These three persons should not come for the same department of the faculty.
- Individual and group supervision by the teacher and the support thesis seminar (see PSYM2002)
