Main themes
Aims 1. To enable students to gain awareness of their attitudes and special ways of communication at the interpersonal and group levels. 2. To analyse the main phenomena linked to interpersonal relations and to interactions within groups (group relationships and dynamics). 3. To train to intervene, on a team basis, in adult training groups. .
Content 1. The course is based on recorded situations and the analysis of professional experiences selected by students which reflect their needs and training practice. 2. Each student puts forward an analysis of a communication situation. Depending on the size of the group, his/her individual points are combined to a greater or lesser extent in the implementation of collective exercises. 3. Using pre-recorded videos enables students to be objective and analyse the test situations. Observation and self-observation (autoscopy) skills are also developed in a systematic way. 4. The test situations are systematized at a theoretical level and linked to psychosociology paradigms covered elsewhere, particularly the social psychology course and the management workshops. Methods to promote intelligibility drawn from psychology of group relationships and dynamics are introduced for review purposes. At least two sessions are devoted to participation and intervention models in group work.
Other information Assessment is mainly on the training with an additional final assessment on a review assignment (individual written work). This course involves using equipment for video training (material and location). Developing a teaching strategy adapted to adults includes the link between theory and practice, work in sub-groups, training assessment and group and individual work on making practical use of material. Illustrations will be taken from different sectors of adult education and training : permanent education, special education, schools, adult education etc.
