The major writers on the history of philosophy, while at the same time broadening the topics being examined (ontological, epistemological, ethical and anthropological issues etc.) and considering the 4 main periods in the tradition.

By the end of this course, students will have gained a synoptic knowledge of the major trends in philosophy and the most important philosophers from ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary periods
