Theorie I [ LBARC1102 ]

The evaluation will be based exercises and a written exam.

The course provides an introduction to theories of architecture and is designed to develop the reflexivity of the student from the followings themes :
- For what and for who : positioning of architecture as a discipline among others ;
- Think and say : any design is supported by a thought and expresses itself through one or more languages ;
- Observe, analyse, conceptualize and imagine : approches and initiatives of the theory ;
- Explore models and theories of architectural design ;
- Implement a personal architectural synthesis.

The course is divided into two parts : one is an introduction to the theory of architecture (1H/week) and the other deals with the theory of forms and the architectural design (2H/week).
Finally, exercises sessions allow students to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the courses of theories.
