Main themes The lecture describes the various phases of a projects starting with the decision to invest until the substantial completion and final handing-over of the works, with particular emphasis or management and planning techniques required for the good performance of the works. Chap. I : The decision to invest * Preliminary studies, permits, conditions of contract, the various parties concerned. Chap. II : The tender * The tender procedures, qualifications, tender preparation, price fluctuation. Chap. III : The execution of the works *Site organization, programming of works, selection of resources, administrative and contractual follow-up, cost control, safety quality. Chap IV : Substantial completion and 10-years liability. For each phases, the economical, contractual and legal aspects lie (contractual relations between and liabilities of the parties involved) of a contract are addressed.
Aims Introduction to the various economical, legal and contractual aspects of a project and initiation into how to organize and manage a jobsite.
