Prerequisites |
Basic Japanese skills (beginner level) is required. The student is expected to be capable to write and read all characters of hiragana et katakana.

Main themes |
- Adjectifs in past form
- Verbs and their conjugations, « -te » form
- Expressions of behaviors, « actions in process »
- Polite expressions to ask for a service, to apologize, to forbid
- Verbs « give », « recieve » and their different applications
- Conversations with everyday topics more complicated
- Sayings, Japanese proverbs, related to the learning of several basic kanji
- Listening of Japanese pop songs and dictation
- More complicated « survival sentences » ;

Aims |
This course aims to provide the opportunities to improve and enrich their linguistic abilities.

Evaluation methods |
Exam (writing, speaking and dictation) in June.

Teaching methods |
A traditional teaching method and an interactive teaching/learning method are used. The interactive method aims to get the students in active contact with teacher, as well as with one another, to offer to them more opportunities to get part in the discussions and to ask questions more spontaneously. At this stage of learning, the student should take initiative for a more interactive class atmosphere.

Other information |
As the teacher is a native speaker, this course contains a part called 'Culture topics', in which students can discover and be familiar with several Japanese customs, its traditions and the news. This approach will help to understand some of Japanese grammatical rules and special expressions particular to this language.
