Main themes |
The course provides students with a wide group of concepts and models which enables them to achieve the objectives outlined above. It applies more general issues to the training of teachers (didactic transposition, development of skills, integration of knowledge, interdisciplinarity, transfer, involvement of players in their training, support).
The syllabus is listed in a folder of documents which is useful over a two year period. As far as methods are concerned, many of the activities are devoted to case studies and the analysis of students' own experiences both as current and future teachers.
|
Aims |
By the end of this course, students will have acquired the models and concepts which will enable them, from the point of view of a teacher trainer, to :
(1) identify the component of a programme and the methods likely to promote the development of skills and professional identity;
(2) analyse critically a programme and methods and suggest ways of improvement;
(3) explain the theoretical foundations of their analyses and propositions.
|
Content |
The concepts and models from this basic course (1st part) will enable students, at the very least, to conceptualize the following issues :
- the design of teacher training : the work of a teacher, models of situations in teaching and learning, the profession of a teacher, the models of professionality, skills that can be developed;
- programmes and methods to promote the development of skills and professional identity; factors which promote professional development;
- ways of supporting and assessing future professionals;
- skills required to be a teacher and teacher trainer.
The issues covered will focus on the initial training of teachers, but will also include initial professional training and professional development in other professions.
|
Other information |
