Aims

To achieve the in-depth study of a work or of several works related to ancient and/or middle french, in order to refine the students' analysis skills and to introduce them to different critical approaches.

Oral exam.

Teaching methods

Lectures with a variety of teaching materials : reading extracts from works ; PowerPoint presentations

Content

This course is designed to complete students' training in medieval French literature through the internal and in-depth study of one work by one author or of several similar productions. The main focus is on explanation of a philological kind, moving on to developmental observation based on the texts being studied and current critical approaches to the issue under consideration.
