An introduction to Greek literature in prose, from Homer to the Hellenistic period.
At the end of this course, the student will have acquired a general view of Greek literature, within a chronological and historic framework. He will be familiar with the Greek authors whose works are prescribed reading in the course.

Content |
Dedicated to prose works, the main course gives a chronological overview of Greek literature emphasizing the principal authors and main works.
This general knowledge will be reinforced by a personal reading of one or two texts consecrated to the subject.
A selection of representative works of Greek prose literature will be proposed to the student, who must read these in a French translation, and resume them.
In addition, he must produce a text of three pages on a text of his choice.
