According to the participants' needs, the topics addressed will include some of the following issues : ICT and FLL: instructional technology, application to the use of new and emergent technology. L2 literacy development. Assessment in L2: the learner's and the rater's perspectives. Pragmatic and discourse transfer in cross-cultural interaction: Conditions of transfer and pedagogical applications. Intercultural communication and miscommunication. Blended online learning. pre-service teacher education. in-service teacher professional development. reflection and reflective practices. educational system design. intercultural discourse. linguistic and literacy development. innovative and best practices. critical policy. etc.

Aims |
The aim of the seminar is to:
- provide research supervision and preparation in key academic subjects and advanced study and research in areas relevant to curriculum, instruction, and instructional technology, language and literacies.
- enhance understanding and expertise within each field in light of current theory and practice.
- emphasize cutting-edge theory and rigorous standards of research in the construction of new knowledge about education.
- foster strong conceptual understanding of contemporary issues in education and production of a flexible array of responses.
At the end of the seminar, students should be able to adopt and demonstrate an in-depth and critical approach to the themes addressed.

Evaluation methods |
The evaluation will be partly based on students' active involvement in the seminar. It will also involve an oral presentation on a topic of their choice in relation to the themes of the seminar.

The seminar deals with a reflexive approach to cutting edge issues in foreign language learning and teaching via lectures, reading of scientific articles, group presentations and discussions.
