A short article on one of the aspects of the course at the end of the semester

Content

This aims at introducing the global dimension of news and journalism.

It will analyze the impact of globalization in its different aspects (economic, cultural, geopolitical, etc.) and of new communications and information technologies on the construction of news and the practice of journalism.

It will describe the challenges of a new temporality, proximity, complexity and technicity.

It will analyze in particular the selection criteria in international news, the phenomena of media frenzies and neglect, the information battles (propaganda, virtual attacks, safety of journalists), the links between international power (the rise of China, Turkey, Gulf states) nd news flows, and the new actors of the global mediasphere (NGOs, think tanks, re-information agencies, citizen information doers, etc.)
