Main themes |
The following topics will be approached :
-impact of linguistic and cultural factors on the school success;
- linguistic and cultural specificities of pupils stemming from immigration, related with the training of oral and written French and more generally with French as schooling language;
- treatment of linguistic and cultural diversity on the various levels of the school institution.

Aims |
At the end of the course, the students will be able :
- to analyze the linguistic and cultural situation of young people stemming from immigration and to understand the most current errors of these pupils in connection to their langue/culture of origin;
- to make arrangements for possible transfers of implements of French as foreign or second language (FLES) and as teaching language;
- to work out didactic plans for teaching in a multicultural context.

Evaluation: oral examination.

Content |
During the course, it will be presented, in a critical way and for the personal development of didactic plans for teaching :
-results of various researches relating to linguistic and cultural specificities of pupils stemming of immigration ;
- devices worked out in order to take into account linguistic and cultural diversity in teaching ;
- the institutional measures taken in the French Community.
