Main themes |
The main topics addressed in this course concern the ICF classification (International Classification of Functionning, Disability and Health) proposed by WHO (2001) which will serve as a reference frame in order to classify the different functional scales used to measure impairment, disability and restriction in participation of the patients. The psychometric properties of each scale will be described.

Aims |
At the end of the course the successful student will be able to realize a functional evaluation of his patients.
He will be able to choose and use the appropriate scale presenting satisfying psychometric qualities in order to measure impairments, disabilities and restrictions in participation of his patients. The teaching will be given as lectures associated with readings of scientific papers.

Content |
The principal topics approached will relate to the classification ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) suggested by the WHO (2001) which will be used as framework of reference in which the various functional rating scales will be classified making it possible to measure impairments, the limitation of activities and the participation restrictions of patients. Psychometric qualities of each rating scales will be described. At the end of this course the student will be able to choose and use the adequate scales showing satisfactory psychometric qualities in order to evaluate impairments, the limitation of activities and the participation restrictions encountered by their patients.
