| Aims |
The objective of the course is first to prepare future professionals who would be brought to work within the framework of the international humanitarian aid. It also aims at presenting an introduction to the management applied to this particular context such as its principal tools, methods and its principles. Among the many fields of management (finances, human resources), the strategy and the tools will be the subject of a thorough study. Throughout the course, we will stress on the importance to put into perspective the actions of humanitarian aid in their context. In order to take into account what is specifically geostrategically, ethically, socially, religiously and operationally at stake. The consequences (personal, intercultural, economical, political) of the humanitarian interventions will be analyzed as well as the central place which they must occupy in the decision-making proc-ess. Lastly, the operational and technical processes generally used at the time of interventions will be analysed from a theoretical and practical point of view.
In addition, the secondary objectives of the course are the following ones:
- to develop the critical approach, the analytical skills as well as the communication skills of the students;
Insist on the ethical dimension and the vision in which the humanitarian action is engraved.
