The student :

• should have a more precise vision of contemporary Spanish culture
• should develop his capacity of analysis with authentic documents

The contribution of this Teaching Unit to the development and command of the skills and learning outcomes of the programme(s) can be accessed at the end of this sheet, in the section entitled “Programmes/courses offering this Teaching Unit”.

Before the session: written commentary (50% of the final mark) on a Spanish film extract linked with the contents of the course (3 pages, Times 12). The student must give special attention to grammar and spelling: a work without the minimal requirements of expression in Spanish cannot be accepted.

The course is divided in three parts with listening and reading comprehension and writing and speaking, so that each theme can be dealt with greater depth.

Film sessions at the cineclub of the Centre of Hispanic Studies (CEH): the student must attend two of the three projections.

The course is not a straightforward language course but the student is invited to participate and adopt a proactive attitude.

This course will provide the student with a first approach to various Spanish sociocultural aspects. It will be centred around Spain only.

The contents and the tools offered in the course should familiarize the student with Spanish culture.

Los alumnos tendrán que demostrar sus conocimientos y sus habilidades comunicativas a través de - una prueba escrita (75%); - un trabajo personal (25%).
