Main themes |
Grammatical initiation and practical training on Coptic language (Sahidic dialect). If the student followed first the course GLOR 2732 : further study of Sahidic Coptic ; initiation to other Coptic dialects ; initiation to reading of manuscript texts.

Aims |
At the end of this lecture, the student should be able to read, translate and comment grammatically Coptic text of average difficulty, using such tools as dictionaries and grammar.

Content |
Theoretical preliminaries : morphology and syntax. Reading and analysis of easy texts, then of average difficulties, beginning for instance with passages from the gospels..
Method : magistral course on theoretical preliminaries. The texts are prepared and explained by the student, then discussed during the lesson to state more precisely and enlarge grammatical knowledge.

Evaluation : continuous evaluation through the exercises during the lessons ; oral exam at the end of the year.
