Main themes The topics under study will change according to the year but they will mainly focus on the periods before the XXth century. They will treat various aspects of Chinese History and will address the current scientific debates on the matter.
Aims At the end of this course, the student should have a good knowledge of the Far Eastern History, and more specifically of China. It is the continuation of GLOR 1541. The student should be able to identify and collect the different sources of information, at least in Western languages.
Content The topics under study will change according to the year but they will mainly focus on the periods before the XXth century. They will treat various aspects of Chinese History and will address the current scientific debates on the matter.
Other information Prerequisite: The lecture GLOR 1541 History and Society of India and the Far East I is strongly advised. The examination will be either oral or written. Attendance to the lecture is compulsory. An essay on a specific topic may be also be required.
