Main themes The course is divided in two parts : 1) Intensive personal reading of a corpus of literary texts in Latin, together with a thorough study of the linguistic and stylistic features of these texts (the choice of the author or period varying from one year to another : archaic poets, Plautus, Lucretius, Tacitus, etc.). 2) Advanced training in grammatical and lexical competence of Latin, by practicing Latin-French and French-Latin translation.
Aims Advanced training, aiming at an active command of the Latin language.
Content Intensive personal reading and linguistic/stylistic study of a corpus of literary Latin texts. Further training in Latin-French and French-Latin translation.
Other information Prerequisite : full curriculum in Latin language (BA-level). Evaluation : oral + written examination.
