Main themes - Overview of the history of geography; - Readings on the major books of geography: Alexander von Humboldt?, Alfred Wegener, Carl Ritter, Paul Vidal de la Blache, Ellen Churchill Semple?Ellen Churchill Semple, William Morris Davis, Georges Perkins Marsh as well as more contemporary authors. - Presentation of one author and discussion of its contribution to geography.
Aims This course aims at discovering the history of thoughts in geography through major books that have influenced the discipline.
