Main themes
Aims The objective of the course is to provide the financial and managerial basics necessary to attend the CPME program. This course is different from a traditional management class : it will be oriented towards SMEs rather than large companies.
Content The method will be based on traditional teaching and students' participation : -selected readings will be discussed in class - practical verification of the theoretical concepts Evaluation will be based on : - class participation - group works - final exam Content Among others, the following topics will be covered : - SMEs in economic theory - Accounting for SMEs - Strategic and operational marketing for SMEs - HR in SMEs - Investment choices - Cash management - Relations between SMEs and banks - SMEs and ethics Methods In-class activities 1 Lectures 1 Interactive seminar 1 Problem based learning At home activities 1 Readings to prepare the lecture 1 Paper work 1 Students presentation
