Main themes |
Thorough analysis of the stakes and the constraints of contemporary international journalism. Critical course of the read currents of those. Analyze these sets of themes in Belgian space.

Aims |
This course sets out to acquire a critical understanding of the issues of multi-media journalism, and aims to give students the key skills for operating in the area of the media. This study is restricted to the exercise of day-to-day journalistic work, and therefore excludes aspects of design and planning. The course follows a specialised logic, and is an extension of Course COMU2282 (Workshop on writing for the press).

Content |
Contents: Introduction to the analysis of the stakes of information.
Course of the intellectual and political postures of analysis. Analyze principal stakes:
- commercial constraints and capital intellectual;
- technological constraints, acceleration and validity of information;
- formatting of the journalistic writing, cognition and creativity;
- editorial strategies and profitability;
- image and information;
- imbalances of world flows of information.
Analyze Belgian specificities.
Method: This course will be the subject of masterly talks, illustrated many analyses of case. .

This course will be the subject of an examination evaluating the knowledge of the matter and the capacity of the student to analyze concrete cases.
A written support synthesizing the matter seen with the course and proposing a wallet of texts of reference will be placed at the disposal of the students.
