Main themes This seminar will tackle the production of long-format items requiring fieldwork in both radio and television journalism.It will seek to familiarise students with narrative approaches that are appropriate to both forms of media, and to situate the treatment of events by journalists in the framework of ongoing production
Aims This workshop is based on what has been learned in the practical two-year degree course radio and television journalism workshops. It is restricted to students on two-year degree courses, and aims to extend the learning of journalistic skills beyond a treatment of daily news.
Content - Introduction to the processes of long-term investigative work and reporting specifically of the type found in radio and on television. - The production of practical investigative and reporting work on radio and television. - The design and realisation of a complete journalistic television product calling for an understanding of all the components associated with television. Individual work and/or group work, depending on supports.
Other information Course requirements: Completion of the Workshop on writing for the press, the Radio news journalism workshop, and the Television news journalism workshop. Ongoing assessment. This course requires supervision from Assistants.
