Prerequisites None in economics and management
Aims Introduction to the economic and social role of business and the main management principles, with an application to financial management, and the organization and planning of production processes and projects.

Evaluation methods The final grade is based on the written analysis of a case study, where students (in groups of 3 to 4) apply the main topics of the course.

Bibliography The course stretches over 4 half-days and covers three main topics: 1. The economic and social role of business: business and its stakeholders; financial statements; financial structure and risks; case study. 2. Financial management: financing the business; capital budgeting decisions; case study. 3. Organization, production and logistics: organizing and planning; project management; supply chain and "just in time" management; flexible organization; relation between R&D and production; case study.
