The relation of paternity

In the Gospels, God, whom Christ designated by the title of "Father" is so called in the Christian tradition. If it appears that there is no role of father or mother within the mystery of the Trinity, is it a matter of indifference that God should be presented as a father and not as a mother and what effect does this have on the structure and functions of human paternity in the family and social relations? The question will be examined taking the crisis of meaning of paternity, in society today, into account.
