Main themes
The course covers the following: the main lines of a rational elaboration of the affirmation of God; the Christian idea of the incomprehensible and ineffable God; the Protestant criticism of "natural theology"; the different forms of the negation of God in modern atheism and the different ways in which theology discusses them.
Aims
By the end of this course, the student should be able: to enter into the theological questions of existence and the nature of God; to elucidate the relationship between natural knowledge of God and the Christian belief in God; to counter the criticisms that modem atheism addresses to the belief in God.
Content
These lessons examine the various types of modern atheism and the different ways of affirming the existence of God by reason.
