Main themes - concept of attitude : definitions and behaviour prediction - attitude change : cognitive process, persuasion, affective process, from conditioning to familiarity, behavioural process, manipulation techniques - social norms and roles : setting of norms, roles and status - conformity and obedience : normative and informational dependencies, power and obedience - resistance and innovation: rebellion, group polarization; minority influence - weight of group memberships in attitude-change situations
Aims - to familiarize students with the various theoretical trends relating to the question of attitude change and social influence.
