| Main themes |
- Legislation and standards : overview of ergonomics in law and the code on well-being ; overview of specific standards in ergonomics. Since ergonomics is about adapting every aspect of man's work situation, many legal texts are involved, apart from those traditionally devoted to RSI, relating to : noise, vibrations, psycho-social aspects, work machinery etc. It is therefore useful to remind students of this global approach ; detailed work on these texts is led by lecturers from the MCC responsible for these subjects. In this way, knowledge of the legislation and standards is a kind of cross-disciplinary strand in all the MCC courses.
The development of the legislation in Europe and in Belgium is also covered.
One day of class is sufficient for this instead of the three days originally scheduled.
- Physical aspects of the work station. The two remaining days will be devoted to physical factors (noise, vibrations, temperature and light) : definitions, laws, prevention, effects etc.

Teaching methods :
Presentation of different notions in which students are encouraged to participate through questions, examination of different problems, exercises, discussion of practical examples etc.
Assessment :
Written examination in June (multiple choice question sheet).
