| Main themes |
This course is given alternatively with GLOR 2782, and deals with New Testament Greek. It gives an introduction to specific questions of morphology, syntax and lexicology as found in biblical texts. Particular focus is given upon influences found in this type of language (either semitisms or latinisms), literary genres, evidence for translation and phenomena of bilinguism.
Students in biblical studies are invited to get more acquainted with tools used in classical philology, and classicists with those used in biblical studies.
Commented reading of selected texts constitutes the basis of the lecture.
