Main themes The course is relating to : 1. Luwian texts from the second millennium B.C. ; 2. Introduction to the Asianic languages : Hatti, Carian, Pisidian.
Aims Provide each student or scholar interested in Asia Minor or Syria with the necessary philological background.
Content Study of Luwian (daughter language of Hittite) and introduction to the Asianic languages : Hatti, Carian, Pisidian. Philologic analysis of several inscriptions.
Other information Prerequisite : knowledge of Hittite. Evaluation : oral exam and home preparation of a text not seen at the course. Texts and books : photocopied notes will be handed out to the students.
