Aims The entity responsible for the course description defines the skills and the knowledge which the student must have acquired at the end of the activity of training (maximum 10 lines) At the end of this course, the students can: - write a review of a film, book or play; - write clear, detailed texts on a variety of subjects related to his/her field of interest, synthesising and evaluating information and arguments from a number of sources; - write an essay or report which develops an argument, giving reasons in support of or against a particular point of view and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Content Each 2 hour-course is divided in two parts: a phase of discovery in which students listen, read or watch a document they discuss in small groups. The second part of the course focuses on writing a production that is related to the situation of communication seen previously.
Other information Prerequisites ( Ideally in terms of skills): To master intermediate skills (level B1) as described in the common European Framework of reference of the Council of Europe during an oral placement test. Assessment: During the semester: The several written productions completed during the semester count for the final evaluation (40%) The individual list of corrections and of specific structures (happy mistakes file) counts for the final evaluation (10%). The final exam includes questions on vocabulary and textual competences as well as a written production (50%). Course material : syllabus, Intranet (Moodle platform) References: J. Bady et allii.
