Main themes This course outlines and analyses the relations between Europe and these three regions with a special focus on the economic aspects.
Aims - Understanding the main stakes of the economic and political relations between Europe and these regions. - Developing a multidisciplinary approach to European international relations taking into account its historical, geographical, economic, institutional and political dimensions.

Written or oral examination.

Content

For each region, the course examines the different aspects of the relationship with Europe. It starts by analyzing the historical evolution of economic and political relations between Europe and each of these regions. The course examines the structure of economic flows (trade, FDI, portfolio) between Europe and each region. It also outlines and comments on the agreements and the relations between Europe and each region. For each region, the course provides case studies that highlight particular aspects of the relations between Europe and the given regions. 1. Africa 2. The Mediterranean countries and the Middle East 3. South Asia 4. East Asia 5. The Americas (Central America & the Caribbean, South America)
