Main themes Communicative methodology by developing the oral and written expression as well as the listening comprehension throughout the multitude of activities proposed in the syllabus regarding the issue of job recruitment in a Spanish-speaking country. The course is based on four main themes related to the job market for someone having recently got his University degree: looking for a job, team recruitment, negotiation and meetings and, finally, the problems of the job market. For each theme, students will have to perform different tasks so that their various language skills may be thoroughly evaluated.
Aims This course is for those students in FLTR who have acquired at least the intermediate level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and who have successfully passed the Spanish courses of their programme. At the end of the course, they should be able to develop the communicative and cultural competence in the context of job recruitment, special attention being made to the specific vocabulary of this field. The systematic study of basic grammar is not the object of the present course. ROM and ROGE students who attend this course will have to simultaneously attend the Spanish courses offered by the Faculté de Philosophie et Lettres of the UCL, without which it is not possible to reach the required level of language.
Content This is a highly interactive and practical course. The objective is that students develop their language skills, and particularly spoken production by way of performing tasks. In order to enable students to performing the above-mentioned final tasks, a whole set of activities, either communicative or centred on the code, will be proposed. Activities and basic materials are very heterogeneous kinds: games, role plays, debates, team/group dynamics, songs, films, documentaries, and so on.
