Main themes - Main concepts, data sources and methods for the study of migrations and urbanization - Main theories on international and internal migrations and urbanization - The development of international migrations : analysis of flows, characteristics of the migrants, migratory policies and integration " factors " - Internal migrations and the urbanization process: the role of migrations in urban development, urban-rural migration, the stages of the urbanization process, periurbanization, return migrations… - Economic, social, political, demographic and individual determinants of migration - Demographic, economic, social and environmental consequences of internal and international migrations. - Do migrants have specific demographic behaviours?
Aims Master the theoretical and methodological tools to study urbanization, internal and international migration; knowledge of the main migratory flows (or trends) in the North as well as the South, and their determinants and consequences.
