Prerequisites

Required : to have followed successfully at least one of the courses ARKE of the orientation « Archaeology of Egypt and Ancient Near East ».

Main themes

The student will choose a theme related to each one of the civilizations (Egypt and the Ancient Near East). The theme will be determined by tne professors.

Aims

Advanced training of students who are interested in art and archaeology of Egypt and the Near East.

Evaluation methods

The students will do a personal search, followed by a talk, about one the subjects suggested in relation with the theme of the year.

Evaluation : based on the oral presentations by the student and his personal research.

Content

The subject of the seminar changes every year. In 2010-2011, the selected theme is the next one : « The Story of Excavations and Discoveries. Diplomats, adventurers and first archaeologists ». Different subjects are proposed at the beginning of the year.
