To reach the aims, the course:
- will focus on a specific issue in bioethics
- will explore human, social and political issues
- will present an ethical appraisal in a philosophical and theological point of view

By the end of the course, the student will be able
- to clarify fundamental categories of ethical reflection about questions asked by the development of sciences and biomedical techniques
- to relate contributions of Christian traditions to current debates about these topics.

The course deals with the following themes:
- the topics of a bioethical reflection, considering the biomedical developments through recent history;
- philosophical and theological discernment criteria from several special questions.
