5.0 crédits ECTS  15.0 h

Teacher(s) Hambye Philippe ;
Language French
Place
of the course
Louvain-la-Neuve
Main themes The theme of the seminar depends on its articulation with other courses and concerns aspects of (spoken or written) French phonectis/phonology, morphology, lexicon, syntax, discourse/pragmatics.
Aims The seminar is centred on a yearly defined theme, related to the functioning of the French language (spoken or written). It gives the students the opportunity to make up a state of the art about the selected theme and to lead a personal research based on the analysis of authentic data, gathered by the students or during former research.
Content In 2009-2010, the seminar will address the question of perception in linguistics, a more precisely the question of categorisation (identification and evaluation) of regional accents in French-speaking Belgium. The seminar will start with a general introduction on the questions around perception and will continue with students' presentations of papers linked to this theme. The last course sessions will aim at discussing objectives and methods of each student's personal research work.
Other information Assessment : The assessment is based on students' personal research, which will be presented orally during a special session of the seminar and synthesised in a written report. Course material : A course website will be available through Icampus and will allow students to access and exchange information and documents related to the seminar.
