Main themes The course is concentrated on a definite period (for example : the era of Justinian, the seventh century, the Age of Iconoclasm, ...) which will be deepened by the reading of contemporary sources, and which will be studied from various points of view by the students. Each of them will be expected to present to the class the results of their researches.
Aims This course has as its aim to examine at a deeper level some special question concerning Byzantine history : at the end of the course, the student will have learned how to use ancient sources and to make a critical analysis of modern studies of the question.
Content The course has as its aim to examine in depth a particular topic in Byzantine history : by the end of the course, the student will have learned to use ancient sources and to make a critical analysis of modern studies on the matter.
Other information Prerequisites : it is desirable to follow at the same time one of the courses GLOR 2521 or GLOR 2522. Continuous assessment and oral examination.
