Main themes This lecture is conceived of as a general introduction to Asian civilizations. It will take several perspectives: it will either adopt a historical point of view or develop a specific topic.
Aims It will attempt to provide the students a general framework on Eastern civilisations. The students will be introduced to Asian societies by emphasizing a personal approach.
Content From a historical point of view, several perspectives will be proposed in relationship with the culture and religion of the concerned areas.
Other information Prerequisite : none. Evaluation: The student will be asked to write an essay which will be discussed. An viva will be organized to check the knowledge. The student will also be orally examined over the content of the lectures.Attendance to the lectures is compulsory.
